My first Model Train Layout was built in the basement of my parents house around the year 1990, which was a basic HO scale 4'x10' layout size. (Click on the image to make it bigger)

My Dad has an old Lionel Santa Fe Train set that his father gave him. The Santa Fe F3 Diesel AA Unit 1948-1949 Engine Number (also model number) is 2343. (Click on the image to make it bigger)

Today, I really want to combine my love of LEGO buildings with Model Railroad Scenery into one layout. I prefer the more realistic scenery found with model railroad layouts, instead of the plastic LEGO scenery (road, trees, fences, etc.).

Therefore, my next project is to design and built a model railroad layout. This will include the trains, track, and realistic scenery; such as, mountains, valleys, lakes, rivers and harbors. BUT all of the building structures and vehicles will be made out of LEGO Bricks. I am aware that most LEGO Fans and Model Railroad Layout Fans will not like the idea of combing two such wonderful and creative hobbies together, but that is what I would like to do.
